Caution and Remarks

• Even though participants do not need to submit any health certificate those with a history of medical problems, particularly cardiac or respiratory, should consult a doctor before deciding to undertake the trip. (Specially Kailash or Tibet trip is regorous and challenging trip where all the time are spent at high altitudes.

• Carry appropriate substitutional drugs for individuals allergic to any of above.

• Avoid medication such as sleeping tablets, sedatives, strong painkillers and anti-histamines, which depress the respiration and increase the risk of "Acute Mountain Sickness" (AMS) especially while sleeping.

• Flying or driving to high altitude, increase the risk of developing severe "AMS". Consider using Diamox™, first does the day before you ascend and continue for four of five days.

• Drink plenty of water.

• Decent if the symptoms get worse.

• A portable hyper baric chamber called a "Gamow Bag™" may be helpful in reversing the effects of mild to severe "AMS".

• Peripheral edema (swelling of the eyelids, face, hands etc.) is probably more susceptible for the development of signs of AMS. The use of medicines such as Furosemide (Lasix™) is not recommended. Rather Diamox™ works more or less as alternative medicine.
